Uganda Gorillas
We stood in the midst of a primal jungle which dazzled our senses. Our eyes gorged on the lush vegetation, towering tree ferns and curious gorillas. Our nostrils marvelled at the unique smells and jungle fragrances. Our ears danced to the tune of songbird. Out hearts were filled with anticipation and joy and our minds forged memories that will last a lifetime. And this was just one of our 5 equally thrilling days. One evening we would be sitting down after a busy day of safari sipping on a beer on our balcony overlooking the great rift valley elephant spotting, the next we would be following Justice our renegade night walk guide searching for elusive nocturnal primates. One day we would be walking through a community village with the gentle kindness of birdwatching enthusiast & all round decent guy Peter, the next we would be following a wise old chimpanzee walking through primeval forest. My magical Ugandan trip has been etched into my soul and will echo in eternity and its all thanks to Africa Adventure Safaris. Nelson was an administrative maestro and was prompt and polite. Elvis our guide was a revelation - patient, informative, punctual and personable with a sharp wit, can’t say no attitude and an encyclopaedic knowledge in Ugandan history, politics and geography. Would thoroughly recommend.
2 day Uganda gorilla tour
I booked a 2 day Uganda gorilla tour with Africa Adventure Safaris from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Everything was organised via email with Nelson who was extremely helpful. My guide, Julius, picked me up from my hotel in Kigali the day before the trek to drive me to Bwindi. Julius was a fantastic guide! He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable and made sure that the whole experience was relaxed and extremely enjoyable. Africa Adventure Safaris/Julius organised all of my meals for the 2 days and my accommodation for the night before the trek. I trekked in the Rushaga section of Bwindi and the whole day was fantastic from start to finish, especially the hour I spent with the Mishaya gorilla family of 13. A long drive back to Kigali after a tough trek but Julius helped to make it as enjoyable as possible with lots of water, fresh pineapple and telling me all about the communities and the topography that we drove through. I would highly recommend Africa Adventure Safaris, thank you so much for a fantastic experience!
Fantastic trip through Rwanda
My wife and I had four nonstop days through beautiful Rwanda. Our excellent guide, Gavis, met us at our hotel in Kigali. We then took a city tour of the capital, including a stop at the Genocide Memorial. Gavis drove us out to Akagera National Park where we experienced unforgettable day and night game drives. Capping off the trip was a gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park. Throughout the four days, Gavis was a gracious host, putting up with our silly questions and groan worthy jokes. We'll gladly recommend Africa Adventure Safaris and Gavis for our family and friends or anyone else interested in spending adventurous time in Rwanda. Thank you!
FABULOUS TREKKING!!!
There are really no words that can describe the experience of being among a family of gorillas. There were 20 in our first group and 34 in our group the next day. With only 8 tourists and 4 guides/rangers, you can be right next to the family. I could post hundreds of photos, but suffice it to say, I loved every minute of watching the toddlers play, the moms nurse, and the silverbacks be ridiculously nonchalant about our presence. Worth every $$$ spent!!
Amazing Uganda
Just had an amazing 15 day Safari in Uganda. Big ‘thank you’ to Nelson for organising a fabulous itinerary - chimps, gorillas, golden monkeys, tree climbing lions - we saw them all plus more. And a round of applause to our amazing guide Ivan - he was so knowledgeable about Uganda, it’s wonderful wildlife and the birds. He was so accommodating as we added extra activities. We went for the deluxe accommodation package and we weren’t disappointed- every place had something different. Be aware that some of the rooms weren’t close to reception or were accessed by a slope, so that if you need an easy access room, make sure that you say. The food was delicious so we didn’t go hungry at all. The vegetarian options were also good. For anyone wanting to visit Uganda, I would highly recommend this company and I am happy for you to contact me.
Trip of a Lifetime!
Based on the reviews here at Trip Advisor and the prompt and helpful responses from Nelson, my husband and I decided to use Africa Adventure Safaris for our Ugandan adventure. I will admit that we were holding our breath when we arrived at Entebbe airport but our fears were put to rest when Elvis stepped forward with his great smile to greet us and welcome us to Uganda. We had a wonderful trip, the gorilla treks were beyond our expectations - such magnificent animals, there is just no way to describe the experience of being that close to them in the wild, still get chills thinking about it! The rest of the trip (chimp tracking, rhino tracking, game drives, wonderful people, super lodges) was all excellent. Elvis was a great guide and driver (on absolutely abysmal roads), he was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and birds and super at spotting game. We have traveled extensively and have no qualms about recommending Africa Adventure Safaris for your gorilla trek adventure - they were great!
An amazing experience
My husband and I, both in our 60s have just returned from Rwanda after the most amazing experience with Africa Adventure Safaris. Our trip was first arranged by Nelson who was always quick to reply to emails and answered all our questions. All the arrangements and the itinerary he prepared for us were perfect. We were met at Kigali airport by the amazing Mildred, our guide/driver who looked after us during the next 3 days. Mildred was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the gorillas and expertly liaised with trek organisers and lodge staff especially arranging for my dietary needs to be addressed. Thank you Mildred for making our experience so amazing. We would thoroughly recommend using Africa Adventure Safaris to anyone contemplating visiting Rwanda to see these majestic animals in their own environment.
10 day Safari in Uganda & Rwanda
We just got home this week from our 10 day trip to Uganda & Rwanda. It was wonderful. Over the top!! Our guide, Ivan was terrific and really knew his birds. I was amazed that he could drive and spot so many birds along the way. I had never used Africa Adventure Safaris and despite their great rating on Trip Advisor I was skeptical all the way until I saw our driver waiting for us at the Kigali Airport. In the end the trip was all we had hoped for and the some.I would use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone & everyone. Every lodge they put us at was unique and special in it's own way. The service at every lodge we stayed was impressive!! Seeing the gorillas, chimps and golden monkeys on our treks was an incredible experience. Thank you Nelson for all your hard work in the planning of this trip!!
Once in a lifetime...
It's expensive, very expensive even but what an amazing experience. To have gorillas come right up to you in their natural habitat is amazing. They are completely at ease with humans and really couldn't care if you are there or not. Once in a lifetime experience.
Trip to Uganda with Chris Ngabirano
My family and I visited Rwanda and Uganda for some gorilla trekking last December. Chris Ngabirano was our tour guide from the moment we landed until we departed.
We spent 3 days with him traveling through Rwanda and Uganda. He was our tour guide and became friend. Very nice person, extremely kind, gentle and smart. Everything about this trip was perfect and it exceeded our expectations in so many ways. Can't say enough about the gorilla encounter.
Our kids loved the experience, and Chris was always aware of every tiny detail to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
