Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Kidepo Valley National Park.
You will be picked from the hotel and in Entebbe and be dropped off at the airport to board your 1hr flight to Kidepo Valley NP. You will land at Apoka airfield where the lodge driver will pick you up and drive you to the lodge. In the afternoon, you will embark on a game drive to see what the park offers. Overnight at Apoka lodge.
Day 2: Game drive in the Narus Valley and Karamajong community visit.
In the morning, a game drive to the Narus valley, a popular hub for wildlife congregation may be rewarding, The Narus valley contains the park’s only permanent water points which makes it rich in Wildlife populations. Drive through dry river beds and magnificent grasslands as you look out for big herds of buffalos, elands, elephants and several other animals like giraffes and zebras. Look out for lions around the rock kopjes and for the uncommon sights of leopards and cheetahs. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, visit the Karamajong community and learn about their traditional cultures and history. Overnight at Apoka lodge.
Day 3: Game drive in the Kidepo valley and visit the IK community.
In the morning go for a hike of the Morungole ranges that form the southern boundary of the park and are home to Uganda’s smallest ethnic group called IK. A visit to this community may awe you as you marvel at the rich cultural history of this ancient society that has preserved their cultural norms through ages. You will later return to your lodge. In the afternoon, take another game drive to the Kidepo valley in the north as you look out for Ostriches and secretary birds that are resident in this area. The valley doesn’t boast much on big game but the 1hr drive to the Kanangorok hot springs may reward you with sights of magnificent land scape and beautiful scenery. Overnight at Apoka lodge.
Day 4: Transfer back to Entebbe
You will have breakfast and relax at the balcony of your cottage as you enjoy the great views of the park while waiting for your flight time. The lodge driver will drop you at the airfield for your flight to Entebbe.
