This is a customised 8 Days Rwanda gorilla safari which also includes chimpanzee tracking, canopy walk, a boat cruise and golden monkey tracking experiences. The tour starts with chimpanzee tracking and a canopy walk in Nyungwe national park before proceeding to Lake Kivu for a relaxing afternoon boat cruise. The tour is concluded in Volcanoes national park with more breathtaking primate experience including trekking both gorillas and golden monkeys.

8 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari - Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: Airport Transfer
Upon your arrival, you will be driven to Kigali Serena Hotel, Five to five hotel
DAY 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National park
In the morning at 8:00am, you will be picked from the hotel and transfer to Nyungwe Forest NP. Visit the Nyanza palace, Murambi Memorial and Butare Museum enroute. Your lunch will be enroute and continue for Dinner and overnight at Only Nyungwe house (super luxury)/ Emeraude Kivu Resort (deluxe/ luxury)/ Gisakura Guesthouse (budget). FB
DAY 3: Chimp Tracking and colobus monkey working
Have an early Breakfast and go for briefing at the park headquarters. You will be told the do's and don'ts while with the chimps before entering the forest. Enjoy them feeding, playing around while taking observations and photographs. In the afternoon, you may go for colobus monkey tracking where you will encounter other primate species as vervet monkeys, blue hoest monkeys among others. DAY 4: Canopy and Nature walks
After breakfast, you will go for a canopy walk within the forest expecting to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of different bird species such as the Rwenzori Turacos, Hornbills among others. You will also have a self guided walk after lunch around the nearby environment and the Kamiranzovu waterfalls. DAY 5: Drive to Lake Kivu
Take breakfast and head to Lake Kivu. Enjoy a breath-taking scenery of the Virunga Mountains and the green vegetation enroute. You will have lunch enroute and proceed for either a boat cruise along Lake Kivu or relaxing on the shores. DAY 6: Transfer to Volcanoes and Golden Monkey Tracking
Have breakfast and drive to Volcanoes National park to catch up with the golden monkey tracking activity. These are the most endangered primate species at Parc des Volcans. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk to Iby'wachu for cultural entertainment by the Banyarwanda community. DAY 7: Mountain Gorilla Tracking
You will have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters to be briefed before entering the forest to track the gorillas. The hiking may take about 1-8 hours depending on the movement of the gentle giants. A maximum time of one hour is given for photography, observations, and enjoying them feeding or playing around. DAY 8: Transfer to Kigali, city tour and departure
Enjoy your breakfast and drive back to Kigali reaching early for a for a city tour in Kigali where you will visit Nyamata church, local markets, Genocide Museum among others. Later, proceed to the airport to catch up with your scheduled flight back home. You may as well have the above tour in a reverse order or include other activities you want included in the itinerary.
