This 6 Days Uganda gorillas and wildlife safari takes you to explore two of Uganda's top national parks for the best Uganda safari experience. Visit Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for the lifetime mountain gorilla trekking experience. The rainforest shelters over 450 mountain gorillas split in four sectors, Ruhija, Nkuringo, Buhoma and Rushaga regions. You will trek one of the 17 mountain gorilla families in Bwindi Forest for an hour. These gorilla families include Mubare, Rushegura, Habinyana, Kutu, Katwe, Nkuringo, Christmas, Nshongi, Oruzogo and Muyambi among others. You will also do a cultural tour to visit batwa pygmies who share their traditional forest life, norms, customs and beliefs. The park also offers the exceptional gorilla habituation experience which allow you to spend four hours with the wild gorillas undergoing training.

The 6 Days safari also takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda's second largest park with a high concentration of wild animals. A game drive through the savannahs of QENP offer you excellent views of wild animals grazing, browsing and hunting. Ishasha sector in the southern region of Queen Elizabeth is home to the famous tree climbing lions which are not found anywhere else in Uganda. Still in QENP, enjoy a boat cruise at Kazinga channel which connects Lakes Edward and George. You will also do a nature/forest walk in Maramagambo forest and visit Lake katwe where salt mining takes place. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Bwindi National Park.

Flying safaris in UgandaYou will be picked from the hotel and in Entebbe and be dropped off at the airport to board your flight to Bwindi NP. It is about 45mins to 1hr flight to any of the two airstrips serving Bwindi NP. If your gorilla permits are secured in the eastern part of the park (Ruhija tracking section) or northern part (Buhoma tracking section), you will fly to Kihiihi airstrip and in case your permits are secured in the southern part of the park (Rushaga and Nkuringo), you will fly to Kisoro airstrip. Upon arrival, our driver guide will pick you up and drive you to your lodge. Overnight and dinner at Gorilla heights lodge/ Clouds Mountain Gorilla lodge (southern section)/ Mahogany Springs / Buhoma lodge (northern section). FB

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking and afternoon nature/cultural walk.

Luxury Uganda safarisAssemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning together with your trekking gear, a snack and drinking water. The Park officials will belief you about the dos and don’ts while you are on the trek and then allocate you gorilla groups to track after dividing you into groups of 8 people maximum. You will then ascend into the forest to track the gorillas as your park guide and rangers lead the way. Once you have caught up with them, you will be allowed not more than an hour to observe, learn and take photos of these gentle giants before returning to your lodge. In the evening, you may go for a community visit to learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Batwa pygmy community. Dinner and overnight stay at your Lodge. FB

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP.

In the morning after breakfast, your driver guide will drive you northwards to Queen Elizabeth with an en route game drive in Ishasha sector; the southern part of Queen Elizabeth NP, renown for its Tree climbing lions found only here in the whole of Uganda. Enjoy the game viewing as you drive past herds of topis and Uganda kobs as you look out for the lions that usually take shelter in the branches of the huge fig trees found in this area as they wait to pounce on the unsuspecting antelopes. Proceed later to the upper section of the park for more game viewing. Overnight Elephant Plains / Kyambura Gorge lodge. FB

Day 4: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Luxury safaris in UgandaIn the morning, take a cup of coffee and set off to the Kasenyi plains for game viewing. These plains have the greatest concentration of wildlife in the whole of this park and sights of a variety of wildlife species may captivate you. You may be lucky to spot predators taking down their prey or even catch a sight of lions and hyenas returning from the night hunt. Lucky visitors may also spot the elusive leopard among other many wildlife species not forgetting buffalos and elephants. You will later return to your lodge for a late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, assemble at the Kazinga channel for a boat cruise down the stream as you enjoy beautiful sights of wildlife that storm the channel to have water in the hot afternoons as well as crocodiles and hippos. Overnight and dinner at day 3.

Day 5: Nature walk to Maramagambo forest and afternoon L. Katwe visit

Queen Elizabeth National ParkIn the morning, take a nature walk to the Maramagambo forest and proceed to the bat cave. The walk may reward you with sights of many tree species including medicinal plants and several bird species. The walk will climax with a visit to the bat cave where visitors are able to observe and view bats and pythons from a viewing room. In the afternoon, you will visit L. Katwe and observe the traditional salt mining practices which have been in place since the 16th Century. Close by, is L. Munyanyange, a renown breeding site for the lesser flamingos especially between August and November. Overnight at Elephant Plains / Kyambura Gorge lodge. FB

Day 6: Transfer back to Entebbe

In the morning, your guide will drive you to Kasese airfield for your flight back to Entebbe. Along the way, you may stop at the equator for photographs before proceeding to the airfield. Once your flight is ready, you will fly to Entebbe to proceed with your international travel or check in at your hotel.
